Knicks: Scott Perry might not be done in New York

New York Knicks general manager Scott Perry is the last remaining member of Steve Mills’ front office regime. And while it’s general practice for a new president of basketball operations to clean up during the acquisition, reports surfaced that Leon Rose preferred continuity in the 2020 NBA draft and decided to keep Scott Perry.

The consensus seems to be that this will be Perry’s last year in the Big Apple. Could it be true – He is currently in the final year of his contract and has not received an extension so far. Still, if you look around the league, Masai Ujiri, a much bigger household name and former Knicks GM target is also the last year of his deal. Ujiri has been a staple with the Toronto Raptors for the past seven years and his future is uncertain.

Hiring Brock Aller didn’t do Scott Perry any favors, but when Rose watches players like Mitchell Robinson and RJ Barrett, Perry played a part in selecting them and making moves to select those players. Aside from that, there’s a broader reason to be argued for keeping Detroit’s native past this season.
