Although most of the buzz surrounding Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield’s future has focused on a possible move to the Philadelphia 76ers, a recent article has suggested some other potential destinations for the former first-round selection, including New York Knicks.
Hoops Hype’s Frank Urbina discussed three alternative destinations for Hield if he is traded, including the Knicks who have struggled especially since beyond the arc in the 2019-20 campaign. As he pointed out, New York’s 33.7% three-point shooting clip ranked 27th out of 30 NBA teams, therefore making it imperative for the organization to address this issue in order to space the field for players like Julius Randle and last year. third pick of the overall draft, RJ Barrett.
“As for the potential deal aspect, it’s less complicated to get Hield to the Knicks because New York plans to have enough space for the talented shooter on their payroll without needing to match the money. They just have to put together the right package to attract the kings”.
Urbina has suggested that two of the Knicks’ youngest players – striker Kevin Knox and point guard Frank Ntilikina – may be the “most likely candidates” to offer as commercial decoy if the team makes a move for Hield in the off-season.
