Knicks Rumors, New York are looking to buy an extra second pick this year

The New York Knicks had the fifth youngest roster in the NBA last year, and the front office would likely want to amass more budding talent in the next draft. Even though the team already has three separate choices, it seems like the ability to add another might not be that far-fetched.

According to Jonathan Macri of the Knicks Film School, the Knicks are looking to buy an extra second pick this year.

A fighting team may not want to pay an inexperienced player in the second round and instead use that money to help improve their roster in the short term, thus exchanging their selection for cash. The Knicks participated in a version this past year, using money to move up eight places in the second round to draft Ignas Brazdeikis.

Giving up money for draft picks is the kind of low-risk, high-reward move the Knicks should definitely look into. With their plenty of cap room and underwhelming free will class, the opportunity to try out a young player towards the end of the draft has never been more glaring.
