Knicks Rumors, Kira Lewis Jr. could be the first choice for NY

New York recently saw former Alabama point guard Kira Lewis Jr. training in person, SNY sources confirm.

Lewis, one of the draft’s top point guards, had previously interviewed the Knicks during a Zoom call, as reported by SNY.

New York also spoke with American point guard LaMelo Ball, French point guard Killian Hayes, and former Iowa State point guard Tyrese Haliburton on Zoom calls.

It is unclear whether the Knicks participated in in-person training for Ball, Haliburton or Hayes.

The fact that they saw Lewis in person tells you that they have a strong interest in him. Teams can only make 10 pre-draft visits to train players.

The Knicks have the eighth and 27th picks in the first round.

Lewis was included in some mock drafts as a mid-to-late first-round choice. But several teams project Lewis much higher than that, with one referring to him as the biggest riser in the project.

The former Alabama guard also worked in person for the Chicago Bulls (4) and Detroit Pistons (7), according to Bleacher Report, who first reported on Lewis training with the Knicks.
