Knicks Rumors: Danilo Gallinari, Carmelo Anthony and Christian Wood as potential options

While New York Knicks president Leon Rose fills up his front office staff and feels comfortable in his new role, there are several areas where he could try to improve the role in the short term. According to SNY’s Ian Begley, in addition to looking for a guide guard, the team is also interested in finding an attacker “who can take down a shot”.

Begley does not suggest that these following players are necessarily specific targets on the Knicks’ shopping list, but in aligning their interest in finding an attacker capable of shooting with players who may be attainable, he lists Danilo Gallinari, Carmelo Anthony and Christian Wood as potential options.

Gallinari, who was drafted in sixth place by the Knicks in 2008, recently said he was open to the idea of returning to New York.

Carmelo Anthony fans hoped that his previous relationship with Rose – who was Anthony’s agent – could lead to a potential reunion. The Knicks were reportedly interested in bringing the scoring star back to New York if they managed to land two important free agents last summer.
