Knicks, RJ Barrett is increasingly thriving

Barrett had another fantastic outing on Friday. The second-year guard had 24 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. New York beat Cleveland by 27 when Barrett was on the pitch.

“I think he’s playing with a lot of composure. Since the start of the season the rebounding and directing have been there, “said Thibodeau.” He’s getting to his places. He’s doing the right readings, whether he has to shoot or pass. He can score in so many different ways: he can score in transition , he can score in the pick and roll, he can score in the handover, he can score on the post, he can score the catch and shoot but also [be able to] create and put pressure on the defense, force the defense to collapse and then make the right reading and open the three-point game for us.

“So I really like the way he’s playing. He’s playing very well. He’s playing very selflessly and he’s playing on both sides of the ball.”
