Knicks Randle will be in Skills Challenge, Toppin in Slam Dunk Contest in All Star Weekend

Julius Randle got his first All-Star nod last week, Obi Toppin will participate in the Slam Dunk Contest.

There were rumors that Toppin would make the trip to Atlanta for the Slam Dunk Contest – it was officially announced that he would participate on Tuesday.

It was also announced that Randle will also participate in the Skills Challenge on Saturday night.

Toppin will become the first Knick to participate in the Slam Dunk Contest since James White in the 2012-13 season, and only the seventh ever Knick to participate in the competition.

Randle will be the first Knick to take part in the Skills Challenge since Kristaps Porzingis won in 2017 and tried to defend her title the following year. Stephon Marbury represented the Knicks in the challenge in 2004.
