Knicks’ Josh Hart reacts to Jalen Brunson’s team-friendly contract extension

Jalen Brunson made his final “team-first” decision on Friday, agreeing to terms of a four-year, $156.5 million contract extension with the New York Knicks . While just over $39 million per year is a high figure, Brunson could have waited until next offseason and received another $113 million, but instead opted to actually leave that money on the table for the good of the team.

He’s a big help to the Knicks from a salary perspective and allows them to continue building a strong core capable of competing for a title. Brunson’s decision was probably the most selfless in NBA history. Following the news, Brunson’s teammate and good friend Josh Hart was among the people to praise Brunson, with the 29-year-old immediately calling for a statue to be built for the star guard.
