Knicks is preparing to train in June for the return of the NBA season in 2020

As the NBA is approaching a potential return to its 2020 season, some Knicks players have recently been informed that they are ready to report for training in early June, sources tell SNY’s Ian Begley. However, where that exact location will be found is still a mystery.

The announcement by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo that all professional sports teams are now authorized to start training camps in the state could influence this development for the Knicks. As long as he adheres to the health protocols, Cuomo says that teams like the Knicks can restart the process of returning to the season.

While this may make sense for all the Knicks to return to New York, there is the ESPN report which says that some teams from regions with multiple regulations amid this coronavirus pandemic, such as the Big Apple, are wondering if they could go. at Walt Disney World in Orlando – the proposed destination for the resumption of the NBA – right away.

The reasoning behind it is because players would travel from all sides to return to the state in which their team plays, they will have to be quarantined before they can participate with their teammates. Of course, this will also have to happen upon arrival in Orlando – if this is the destination to return to play – but doing so for the second time is something those teams in those markets want to avoid.

“The NBA, in partnership with the National Basketball Players Association, is engaged in exploratory conversations with The Walt Disney Company to restart the 2019-20 NBA season at the end of July at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida as a single site for a Campus. NBA for games, tutorials and accommodations, “said Mike Bass, NBA Chief Communications Officer. “Our priority continues to be the health and safety of everyone involved and we are collaborating with public health experts and government officials on a full set of guidelines to ensure that adequate medical protocols and protections are in place.”

Regardless of positions, Knicks players will be asked to be in the best possible shape every time the season resumes.
