Good debut with the new jersey for OG Anunoby (17 points and 6 rebounds) and double double with 16 points and 14 assists for Jalen Brunson. Minnesota also finds 29 points and 6 rebounds from Karl-Anthony Towns and 10 points and 15 rebounds from Rudy Gobert.
On an evening in which Jalen Brunson doesn’t see the basket (5/23 from the field), Julius Randle takes care of keeping the Knicks attack upright: 39 points and 9 rebounds with 14/24 for the New York big man, who in the 4th quarter, when Minnesota comes back down by just 4 points, he scores 11 consecutive points and ensures the victory for his team.
The Timberwolves played a very fluctuating first half in the away match at Madison Square Garden, upon returning after the break Anthony Edwards tried to shake up his team by scoring 15 of his 35 points in the 3rd quarter alone. Minnesota manages to come back to within two possessions, but the great performance of its star is not enough to complete the comeback and make the overtaking.
