The Knicks returned to play after a full nine months. Positive debut for New York, which was victorious against the Pistons. There was a lot of curiosity about seeing the new Knicks and especially Obi Toppin. Head coach Tom Thibodeau talked about him after the match:
“Toppin was good. It was a very aggressive game to be the first. He scored the first points and then there was more attention on him. He showed good things. I really liked his aggression.”
