Point guard Frank Ntilikina rejoined the Knicks after being away for a week due to contact tracking. He had contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 during the trip to Miami and had to be quarantined in Florida. Wednesday’s morning shooting was his first training session with his teammates, so he’s not in the best shape. Ntilikina, however, was either out of rotation or injured by a sore knee, and is primarily a commercial lure. He hasn’t played since the end of December.
“It was his first day to be able to practice with us,” Thibodeau said. “When he’s in quarantine, he can do the conditioning in the room. That’s why you feel for the players, because they are isolated on their own. If it’s on the street, you’re not at home. But you have to follow all the protocols that the League has established and you have to take care of yourself as best you can. There is just so much biking. You can watch the movie and stay ready until you are back. “
