Knicks, first practice under Thibodeau

The New York Knicks gathered yesterday in their first team training session. The team’s first practical training ended late and Tom Thibodeau explained why:

“Usually the first day is the teaching that goes on,” Thibodeau said with a smile when asked about the delay. “It was a good first day in terms of what we were able to achieve. It took a while to get out of here. We stayed in town. The start time was also slightly delayed.”

It is the first time in six months that the Knicks have managed to train as a team, although Thibodeau knows very well that with the draft and free agency, this will not be his team:

“For us, the focus has to be on the guys who are here. And that’s what we’re doing. Every day we think about how we can improve as a team and how we can improve individually, and we want that to be our goal.”
