Knicks: Draymond Green is hesitant to call New York a contender

Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors commented on the New York Knicks’ recent trades at the deadline and seemed to dismiss the idea that they could be an NBA Finals contender.

After trading for OG Anunoby on Dec. 30 and acquiring Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks from the Detroit Pistons on trade deadline day, the Knicks may have improved, but Green isn’t ready to take them to the Finals yet. “The New York Knicks did very well. … They took Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks and OG Anunoby without giving up a single first-round pick. He’s crazy. The New York Knicks have gotten better,” Green said. Will this ultimately get them to the conference finals, like Stephen A. (Smith) said? I see a lot of people saying, “Oh, they’re going to the finals.” They’ve gotten better, but I don’t know if I want to get that far ahead of myself anymore. I need to see more”.
