While LaMelo Ball can only do so much to dictate where its first NBA game will ultimately play, the prospect of the lottery apparently prefers to be drawn up by the New York Knicks.
According to SNY’s Ian Begley, more teams that should select after the Knicks in the 2020 NBA Draft believe that Ball and those in his circle prefer to land in New York.
This is not the first time that high point protection has been linked to the Knicks. His father, LaVar Ball, indicated in a recent podcast that he thinks New York is the perfect solution for his son, and if he ends up there, he could possibly bring all three Ball brothers to call Madison Square Garden home – you can blame a father for dreaming.
LaMelo Ball is reportedly the flagship guard in the New York draft, but of course it may change in the months leading up to the late 2020 draft. Walt Perrin is now responsible for college scouting and it’s unclear how his influence can change. the previous thought within the organization.
