Knicks could be a trade partner for Victor Oladipo

The New York Knicks are almost always connected to the biggest names in the NBA in trade rumors, but have rarely had the resources to pull off such a deal. But what if that big name were also a big reclamation project?

This could be the case with Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo. A 28-year-old, twice All-Star like Oladipo would normally cost a fortune, but he has big question marks since he broke his quad in January last year.

The rumor mill has long been churning out static that Oladipo wants to get out of Indy – who wouldn’t? – and Jonathan Macri has heard rumors that the Knicks may be interested.

For Macri:

Staying in Indiana for a moment, fresh from news of an unstable locker room and an Eastern Conference executive betting the Pacers traded two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo before next season, I heard from a league source that “wants to get out,” and that there are rumors that the Knicks are a potential business partner.

Oladipo was truly special in 2017-18, when he scored 23.1 points out of 47.7 / 37.1 / 77.9 divisions along with 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.4 steals per game. But his shooting numbers dropped significantly next season even before the quad break, and that type of injury can ruin careers.

Oladipo still has one year left for his $ 21 million deal, and from then on he will be owed a big payday. If he can get back to his previous level, this deal would be a breeze.
