Knicks consider former Utah Jazz center as potential depth acquisition

The Knicks are actively seeking additional center support following the departure of Isaiah Hartenstein in free agency. Their current roster includes Mitchell Robinson, Precious Achiuwa and Julius Randle, all of whom can play center, but the team is clearly in search of another player who brings significant size and rebounding ability to the table.

The loss of Hartenstein, known for his playmaking ability, represents a significant loss to the Knicks’ productivity. However, the acquisition of Mikal Bridges and the extension of OG Anunoby are expected to mitigate that loss.

According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the Knicks have been exploring options and recently reached out to Utah Jazz standout Omer Yurtseven.

“The Knicks recently auditioned free agent Omer Yurtseven, among others, but did not choose to sign him. Greece’s Panathinaikos has publicly stated that they are interested in bringing Yurtseven to the EuroLeague”.
