With injuries to Precious Achiuwa and Mitchell Robinson continuing to plague the New York Knicks, the team could look to the trade to bolster their backup center roster. According to Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz, one name New York is interested in is Daniel Theis, currently with the New Orleans Pelicans. Other potential candidates include Charlotte Hornets’ Nick Richards and Utah Jazz’s Drew Eubanks.
Stability needed
After already sacrificing a lot to acquire Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges last offseason, it’s unlikely the Knicks will make any big-time trades midseason. However, adding an experienced center like Theis could provide crucial stability, especially considering the frequent injury absences of Robinson and Achiuwa, who have yet to play a game this season.
Such an addition would bolster the team’s rotations, allowing the team to maintain balance and depth even if they experience further injury issues.
