New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson could return to the team in February, according to the latest reports. Ahead of Friday’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, coach Tom Thibodeau made his thoughts clear on where exactly the dynamic rebounder and defender is at with his rehab. “I’m working individually right now,” Thibodeau said.
“So he hasn’t been cleared. There’s going to be a progression and it’s going to start with one-on-one, which is where he’s at right now. He hasn’t been cleared for contact yet. So that’s the next phase. “I’ve been very pleased with the way he’s approached his rehab. Very diligent. Working hard. He’s doing everything he can every day. Working on his conditioning. So he’s done a good job. And then we focus on what we need to do with the team right now and who’s available, getting ready for each game. But he did a really good job.”
Robinson has missed the entire regular season for New York so far, as he recovers from offseason foot surgery.
