The NBA world was rocked by the news of the Philadelphia 76ers locker room discord on Nov. 19. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey called out Joel Embiid for his tardiness, blaming the former MVP’s attitude for his 2-11 start to the 2024-25 season.
The report sparked rumors that the 76ers would potentially trade Embiid, especially given his injury history. In light of the rumors, Las Vegas bookmakers began placing bets on which team would pull off the big trade. According to Bovada, the Indiana Pacers (+200) have emerged as the favorites to land Embiid starting Nov. 20, with the New York Knicks (+300) in second place to trade the two-time NBA scoring champion.
A potential Embiid trade by the Knicks would likely force the franchise to part ways with All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns, whom they acquired in the 2024 offseason for a hefty sum, including All-Star forward Julius Randle and sharpshooter Donte DiVincenzo.
