The New York Knicks front office has numerous options to explore with the three draft picks it has.
Among the names studied by the Knicks there is also that of Killian Tillie.
He is not a blocked defender or a shot-blocking threat, but he can play a solid team defense and stand up to most forwards and centers. He will turn 23 next season, so his 13.9 points per game indicates he may be nothing more than a solid role player.
However, Tillie’s biggest concern has nothing to do with her skills on the pitch, but rather with her ability to stay on the pitch. He struggled with knee and ankle injuries during college, losing 31 combined games in the past two seasons.
There is still enough reward to overcome the risk, especially with the need to range between promising young players like RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson.
Tom Thibodeau probably also has Tillie on his radar, given his affinity for catch-and-shoot greats like Nikola Mirotic and Nemanja Bjelica. With Bobby Portis’ future uncertain, Leon Rose may choose to choose an inexpensive replacement in the project and spend money elsewhere.
A pro confrontation for Tillie would likely be Bjelica or Maxi Kleber of the Dallas Mavericks. If he’s still available midway through round two, he’d be a welcome addition to the Knicks roster.
