For all the good that came from the Knicks on Sunday, Karl-Anthony Towns was one of the few who struggled on offense. He scored just 14 points in 24 minutes and shot 4-of-12 from the field and 1-of-5 from three.
However, his sluggish offensive performance was masked by his rebounding efforts, as he grabbed 19 rebounds (tying a season high), including 17 in the first half. His efforts down low helped the Knicks dominate the rebounding battle 60-42. Towns was also effective on defense with a steal and a block on the night.
It was a similar story for OG Anunoby, who continued his recent shooting slump with just seven points on 2-of-10 shooting from the field. However, he was outstanding on defense with three steals and four blocks, and his tenacity on that end of the floor set the tone for a Knicks team looking for a spark on that end of the floor.
