Julius Randle ‘Extremely Marketable’ According to Brian Windhorst

Julius Randle is a valuable trade asset for the Knicks, according to Brian Windhorst. Speaking on The Hoop Collective podcast, Windhorst noted that Randle’s relatively low salary of $29 million makes him an attractive trade asset, one that could be combined with a few draft picks to land a bigger star or more key players.

“A very attractive $29 million, his player option for next season is $31 million. His value, if he’s at 100%, is more than that. There’s no reason why if he’s playing at the top of his game, he shouldn’t seriously consider giving that up… He didn’t become eligible for an extension until this month…”

“He’s eligible for a four-year, $181 million extension. However, the Knicks have to be careful with their salary commitments, because of Anunoby. Even though Brunson is a huge discount, that’s a big salary. And they’re going to have to extend Mikal Bridges…”

“Because of that $29 million salary, he’s extraordinarily tradable. And the Knicks still have a couple extra first-round picks left, not extra, there aren’t any more. The Knicks still have a couple extra first-round picks they can move.”
