Jalen Brunson sets career record for three points scored in a season

One positive aspect of Monday night’s loss was the personal recognition given to Jalen Brunson. Brunson entered this game with 134 3-pointers, which tied the record he set last season. In the 2022-23 season, the Knicks guard played 68 games and made 134 3-pointers in 2,379 minutes.

On Monday, with 9:21 left in the first quarter, Brunson hit his 135th 3-pointer, setting a new personal best. He made more 3-pointers this season and tied a career-high with 331 attempts, nine more than the total he finished last season. Brunson also did it in 16 fewer games and 546 fewer minutes.

Although he has already made 16 more attempts from deep than last season, Brunson is shooting very well. The Knicks’ All-Star point guard shoots 41.1% from beyond the arc. This season he is averaging 6.5 threes per game, compared to 4.7 last season. He has taken his game to a new level and has maintained great percentages while increasing volume.
