Jalen Brunson on Victor Wembanyama: “He’s going to be one of the greatest players this game has ever seen”

Victor Wembanyama produced a masterpiece against the New York Knicks on Friday night, finishing with 40 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. Wembanyama led the Spurs to a 130-126 win in overtime and after the game, Jalen Brunson had high praise for him.

“He’s going to be one of the greatest players this game has ever seen,” Brunson said. “Just the way he’s built, what he’s been able to do so far. I have a lot of respect for him and he’s definitely hard to hit.”I

That performance against the Knicks made Wembanyama the first rookie to score 40 points and 20 rebounds in a game since Shaquille O’Neal in 1993. Earlier this season, the 20-year-old also became the youngest player in NBA history to record a 5×5 Game goal, after scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocks against the Los Angeles Lakers.
