The crowd remained silent Tuesday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY, after Jalen Brunson fell to the floor in pain. The All-Star guard was seen immediately grabbing his right ankle.
The New York Knicks led the Memphis Grizzlies 105-95 with just over five minutes left in the game. Brunson isolated Grizzlies defenseman Tosan Evbuomuan on the left wing and passed him. But as the Knicks star made the move, he inadvertently twisted his right ankle with considerable force.
Brunson went out to the locker room after the game and did not return.
The Knicks managed a 123-113 win over the Grizzlies without Brunson. However, the race could prove to be a Pyrrhic victory if Brunson misses extended time.
Brunson had 27 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals before the injury.
