Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson scored 21 points on perfect 9-of-9 shooting as the USA men’s national basketball team won a 98-88 exhibition victory over defending FIBA World Cup champion Spain Sunday in Malaga, Spain.
“A big challenge for us in our only real away game on this tour,” said Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who leads the United States to two more performances in Abu Dhabi, UAE, against the Greece on Friday and Germany on Sunday. “Very proud of our boys playing against a great team.”
Brunson scored 16 points in the first half as the USA improved to 3-0 more than halfway through their five-game exhibition tour – the USA Basketball Showcase – going into the World Cup in Manila, Philippines.
