Prior to the 2020 NBA Draft, Immanuel Quickley caught up with Carmelo Anthony of the Portland Trail Blazers, who gave him some training tips, reports Cody Taylor of USA Today. The New York Knicks picked Quickley with their 25th pick in the draft. Anthony has played with the Knicks for seven seasons but is still clearly providing a veteran presence throughout the league.
“I actually got to spend some time with Carmelo during my pre-draft [training],” Quickley said Thursday. “He just gave me some little nuggets on how to take care of your body, come in with the mindset of being hungry, learn from older kids and stuff. It was really nice to have him in my corner. I wish him good luck too”.
