How the Knicks could add Bruce Brown

Bruce Brown has a salary of $22 million. So the Knicks only need to send $14.5 million to match. However, sending the minimum would put them over the fee. So they will probably want to send more money to avoid the tax.

Fournier works great for Brown. Toronto would undoubtedly seek compensation. The Knicks will have eight first-round picks over the next four years.

Fournier and Quentin Grimes also work under NBA trade guidelines.

Either of these trades would keep the Knicks below the tax bill. Brown’s contract includes a $23 million team option for 2024-25. So the Knicks could use his salary in a trade package for a marquee player if they wanted.
