Before the February trade deadline, the Hornets were engaged in trade talks with the New York Knicks. Trade talks were frequent and many thought that an exchange between the two teams would occur.

On March 30, SNY’s Ian Begley confirmed that the Knicks were approaching a trade for Terry Rozier. Although Rozier was one of the two guards the Knicks were targeting, the team still had a lot of internal support with a proposed trade with the Hornets.

In the proposal, the Knicks would send Julius Randle, Dennis Smith Jr. and a future choice for the first round to the Hornets. In return, the Hornets sent the Knicks Malik Monk and Terry Rozier.

Right now though, this is a difficult trade to accept. As of now, Rozier is one of the team’s top scorers. Additionally, Randle has also been the Knicks’ top scorer this season.

Ever since Randle joined the Knicks this season, many have known he should have become a leader for the team. He led his team all season and became the only top scorer after the Knicks swapped Marcus Morris.

So there will hardly be a trade between the Knicks and the Hornets.
