The New York Knicks’ search for a star has been going on for years now, and the Knicks seem no closer to a solution than the day they started.
Other than some solid young players, future draft picks and veterans, the Knickerbockers don’t have much to work with.
However, that may be enough to finally end their drought. In a recent article by Jonathan Kiernan of Fansided’s Sir Charles In Charge, he describes a scenario that could see the Knicks land one of the NBA’s top greats: Joel Embiid.
The deal would see Knick pay a heavy price: Mitchell Robinson, RJ Barrett, Kevin Knox and more future choices in the first round. But with Embiid’s skills and the possibility that it could help attract other stars to New York, it could come in handy.
For Philadelphia, the package would reinforce depth and add an exciting young guard to play alongside Ben Simmons.
Ultimately, getting a star in the franchise is the only real way to turn things around in New York. And the Embiid exchange may be the only way for Philly to secure their roster.
