Amid his utmost desire to finally cut ties with Philly, James Harden will still at least consider being professional if his trade request won’t be fulfilled soon.
According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, should Harden’s intent to get traded won’t be completed through September up until the upcoming season’s media day, he is still expected to attend the Philadelphia 76ers’ training camp.
“If this saga does drag out through September and until media day on Oct. 2, Harden is expected at this point to report to training camp, according to league sources,” Fischer wrote. “You can cause far more headaches for the organization you’re trying to leave by showing up, as opposed to staying home.”
76ers team president Daryl Morey made it known recently that they do continue to meet the trade demands of Harden. But he clarified that they will only pull the trade trigger at the right price — which would maintain Philly’s contending status.
Harden has the L.A. Clippers as his preferred destination, but the club along with other teams are rumored disinterested to acquire him if it means giving up key draft assets and a star player.
For now, the wait continues for Harden as his request remains in progress.
