Gallinari could be the most important piece of the Knicks in the offseason

Adding a shooter to his frontcourt, such as Danilo Gallinari, could be the most important piece the Knicks need to secure this offseason. If somehow they land LaMelo Ball in the draft, the rest of their lineup screams for the filming, while they reserve points for the other two young main pieces in RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson.

Gallinari has not been officially linked to the Knicks, but we do know that the team is looking for an attacker who can shoot, and the pending free agent recently said he would be open on his return to New York.

While Gallo has mainly played the four in recent seasons, he was part of the Clippers’ most efficient line-ups in 2017-18 playing a small striker alongside Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. He has extensive experience as a winger. We will discuss in a minute why it might start at three before playing a bigger position later in the games.

Former Knicks lottery selection is turning 40.9% from the center this season, having reached 43.3% of the three last year. It represents the filming that New York desperately needs. And it should be reachable in the open market.
