Former New York Knicks center Isaiah Hartenstein will have to wait a while before making his regular-season debut with the Oklahoma City Thunder, as the team announced Thursday that the giant suffered a small, non-displaced fracture in his left hand during Tuesday’s preseason game against the Denver Nuggets and will be re-evaluated in five to six weeks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
This is certainly a blow not only to Hartenstein but to the Thunder as a team. Oklahoma City has championship aspirations this season and looked to have one of the league’s best frontcourts with Hartenstein and Chet Holmgren. Now, they’ll be without an impactful big man for a significant period of time.
