Evan Turner another veteran on the Knicks list

If New York is looking for a veteran player with playoff experience who won’t cost him as much as signing a free agent, Minnesota Timberwolves’ Evan Turner might be ideal. Turner offers versatility as someone who can play point or along the wing. It might be a good item to have in the locker room.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t offer much else. He’s not a three-point threat, his defense isn’t good enough to keep him down, and he does little to open your offensive. Turner is best suited in a limited role on a team that already has a full roster where he can bounce the ball, offer training flexibility, and play stable minutes during high-intensity matches.

The Knicks are looking for players who can move the needle forward into the next season, to help them win games or to create lineups that facilitate the development of their young players. Turner doesn’t really do this. I don’t see the Knicks targeting any of the Wolves’ free agents.
