New York Knicks President Leon Rose continues to support the organization’s player development apparatus with the hiring of Jazz Assistant Johnnie Bryant. Though the news isn’t official yet, Donovan Mitchell wasted no time posting a response on his Instagram page on Tuesday.
“What you understand doesn’t need to be explained,” Mitchell wrote on Instagram after the news of Bryant broke. “Always love! Now, before you go, we have some stuff to handle first!”
Bryant is credited with playing a major role in Mitchell’s development into an NBA All-Star. Athletic wrote a piece in February (subscription required) detailing the three weeks the two spent together last summer to help Mitchell take the next step to becoming an elite player.
