Devin Booker is emerging as a possible commercial target for Knicks

Devin Booker is a Phoenix franchise player, but a team may be lurking as a potential landing point if it ever starts to sour the team.

Marc Berman of the New York Post reported on Saturday that Guard Suns is the New York Knicks’ commercial target “to pay attention to for the most part” since hiring Leon Rose as team president. Bermans adds that recent rumors are that Booker, a former Rose customer, may tire of the constant loss of Phoenix. The 23-year-old also attended the University of Kentucky, closing it with William Wesley, the Knicks’ new front office.

Booker, a 2020 NBA All-Star, two summers ago agreed on a profitable extension with the Suns that will keep him under contract for the 2023-24 season. Therefore, a move towards the Knicks or elsewhere in the near future should come through trade. Phoenix has yet to win 25 games in a season since the arrival of the fourth year Booker guard, so a commercial request is not impossible.
