The New York Knicks are in desperate need of scoring depth, especially on the second unit. They rank last in bench points per game at just 20.3, despite having one of the league’s best offenses overall.
New York made a trade with the Brooklyn Nets in the offseason to acquire Mikal Bridges for a flurry of draft picks. They could again be trading partners for the Nets’ top player, Cam Thomas. Sam Amick of The Athletic suggested the volume scorer is being considered available in trade talks.
“Fourth-year scorer Cam Thomas (24.6 ppg) has failed to reach an extension and is widely considered available, but Brooklyn’s list of possibilities doesn’t end there,” Amick wrote.
