Carmelo Anthony closes the doors to the Knicks

After the first round elimination of the Blazers late Saturday night against the Lakers, Carmelo Anthony emphatically said he wanted to return to the franchise that “revived” his dead career.

“I pray it could be Portland,” Anthony said on Zoom. “Honestly, thank God I found a home in Portland. I got along well with the organization. I felt comfortable with the guys on the team. They got along well with me.

“At this point in my career, I think it’s the best solution for me, the best situation,” added the former Knick. “Especially having this experience now and I’m just getting my feet wet, walking in and being who I am and staying true to myself. I really hope it can be Portland at the end of the day where we give ourselves a chance to keep this team together, get the boys healthy and do another race”.

According to sources, Anthony has been on Rose’s radar since taking office in early March.
