It was reported earlier in the offseason that Bruce Brown had interest from the Knicks. Brown eventually signed with Indiana, but New York’s interest was there.
Despite the inclusion of OG Anunoby, the Knicks could decide to bring in a player of Brown’s caliber. There would certainly be even more redundancy on the roster, but Tom Thibodeau loves players who do what Brown does.
Steve Popper of Newsday Sports reported that the Knicks have shown interest in Brown and as long as the Knicks and Raptors are on friendly terms, they could make a move here.
It remains to be seen whether the Knicks will want to make a move for another defensive-minded player or trade for a scorer off the bench.
Fred Katz listed nine potential trade candidates for the Knicks on Jan. 16 and Brown was one of them.
“Some players who fit this description include (in no particular order): Malcolm Brogdon of the Portland Trail Blazers, Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton of the Utah Jazz, Terry Rozier of the Charlotte Hornets, Bruce Brown and TJ McConnell of the Indiana Pacers, Bogdan Bogdanović of the Atlanta Hawks, Caris LeVert of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Tim Hardaway Jr of the Dallas Mavericks”.
