A key New York Knicks player is set for a breakout year with surprising offseason help from former NBA star

A key player for the New York Knicks heading into next season could have a breakout year after receiving help from a former Sacramento Kings star.

After another strong season and the addition of Mikal Bridges this summer, the Knicks are seen as a serious title contender next season. However, if there’s one area they’re concerned about, it’s the center spot. Departing Isaiah Hartenstein left as a free agent and they haven’t been able to fill that void yet.

Mitchell Robinson was listed as a starter, but his injury history is a concern. That leaves Precious Achiuwa and Jericho Sims as the primary reserves. And that means both could play significant roles if Robinson were to get injured again.

Sims has shown some flashes of athleticism. But he still has weaknesses in his game that he needs to address. The most notable is his shooting. However, the 25-year-old has sought help to improve his shot this summer.

On Thursday, the New York Post revealed that Sims recently worked with former Sacramento Kings star Mike Bibby.

“Bibby, according to a source, emphasized Sims’ offensive game while working to expand the 25-year-old’s repertoire. A pair of videos from their sessions showed Sims hitting mid-range jump shots and executing two-handed reversals in the post,” the outlet reported.
